Create API Client

Get help if you have questions or experience issues creating an API client in Workday

An API Client enables a secure automated data exchange between your Workday instance and our integration.

We need the API Client so that we can read financial data from your account while giving you full control over sharing your data.

To set up and register a Workday API Client, follow these steps:

  1. In Workday, search for and select the Register API Client for Integrations task.

  2. In the Register API Client for Integrations dialog window, complete the following:

    • Copy the Client Name from the connection flow and paste in into the Client Name field.
    • Confirm that the Non-Expiring Refresh Tokens checkbox is checked.
    • Copy the following scopes and paste them in the Scope (Functional Areas) field:
      • Banking and Settlement
      • Common Financial Management
      • Financial Accounting
      • Organizations and Roles
      • Supplier Accounts
      • Suppliers
  3. Click OK to create the API Client and keep the dialog window open. You will be directed to the summary Register API Client for Integrations dialog.

  4. Click Next in the connection flow to move to the next step.
